The Story
From Ichikawa City Zoo to the cosmos
Punch is a Japanese macaque born in July 2025 at Ichikawa City Zoo in Japan. Abandoned by his mother at birth, he was hand-raised by zookeepers who gave him a soft IKEA orangutan plushie for comfort โ and he hasn't let go since.
Punch went viral with the hashtag #HangInTherePunch as millions watched him learn to socialize on Monkey Mountain. IKEA even donated 33 stuffed toys to the zoo. Now he's making real friends โ getting groomed, playing, and finding his place in the troop.
$APUNCH takes Punch's story to the cosmos. A little monkey who found comfort in a plushie, now finding an alien bestie among the stars. For the dreamers who know the best friendships are out of this world.
